How Anthony Joshua Fights
Joshua is a powerful, athletic boxer-puncher. He builds behind a stiff jab and looks for his right hand and uppercut, which have produced 27 knockouts in 30 wins. Since joining trainer Ben Davison, he has been more aggressive and has stopped four of his last five opponents. His weaknesses have shown when he is caught cleanly, as against Andy Ruiz Jr and Daniel Dubois.
Anthony Joshua’s Road to Fury
Joshua turned professional after his Olympic gold and became world champion in just his 16th fight. He unified the WBA, IBF and WBO titles, lost them to Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019, won them back six months later and then lost them to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021.
After rebuilding with wins over Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou, he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois in September 2024. He bounced back by knocking out Jake Paul in December 2025, then beat Kristian Prenga in July 2026 after surviving two first-round knockdowns. He was ringside when Fury called him out in April, and the fight was confirmed in September.
