Tyson Fury’s camp has denied claims that he is injured, and the Fury vs Joshua fight remains on for Friday, December 11, 2026 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff. The rumour started when former heavyweight champion Frank Bruno suggested Fury had picked up an injury that could stop him fighting Anthony Joshua.
Fury’s team rejected the claim when Sky Sports News asked, and his promoter Frank Warren said he had heard nothing about any injury. Nothing official has changed.

What Frank Bruno Said
Speaking with Tony Bellew, Bruno said someone at a gym had told him Fury was carrying an injury that might stop the fight. He did not say what the injury was or where the information came from. Bellew was sceptical, suggesting Fury likes to play up to the cameras and is a master of mind games before big fights.
Why Fans Are Nervous
Fury vs Joshua has collapsed many times since 2017, and even this deal looked shaky just days before the September press conference. That history makes any injury talk feel bigger than it is. Fury has also pulled out of fights through injury before, which adds to the worry.
For now, the facts point the other way. Fury is in camp, sparring with heavyweights including Joe Joyce and Jarrell Miller, and has spoken about fighting on after Joshua. His camp, his promoter and the organisers have all given no sign of any change.
What Happens If Fury Is Injured?
There is no sign that this will happen. If an injury were ever confirmed, the promoters would have to decide whether to postpone the fight or find a replacement opponent for Joshua. Tickets for a postponed event are usually valid for the new date, with refund options set by the ticket seller. We will report any official update straight away.
